Since the redevelopment of the former Gateacre Comprehensive School site began in February 2016, a number of planning applications have been submitted - and approved by Liverpool City Council - for minor changes to house types etc. These are listed here, the main one being 16F/0883 (Approved 16 Nov 2016):
"To vary condition 2 attached to 15F/0516 (To erect 200 dwellings with associated landscaping, roads and new accesses to Grange Lane and Cuckoo Lane) so as to vary 60 house types, undertake minor changes to siting of dwellings and increase garage depths to plots".
In July 2017 another planning application - ref. 17F/1805 - was submitted by Countryside Properties (in the name of Mr John Jones).
The description, as originally published in the Council's weekly list of planning applications received, was
"To erect 106 dwellings with associated landscaping, roads and new accesses to Grange Lane and Cuckoo Lane (replacing dwellings on the development site previously approved under 16F/0883)".
The planning application was submitted on 26 July but its implications were not immediately apparent. It was only on 7 August that - in response to a complaint from the Gateacre Society - the Council's Planning Department agreed to re-issue their consultation letters and site notices, making clear what is proposed. The new description is as follows:
"To erect 106 no. dwellings with associated landscaping, roads and new accesses to Grange Lane and Cuckoo Lane (replacing 75 no. dwellings on the development site previously approved under 16F/0883 to increase overall development to 231 no. dwellings)".
